Sailor’s Hornpipe

Arranged by Alison Major, this traditional piece is very good for those occasions when a fast tempo is needed! – but there are still steady parts for the less experienced players.

My arrangements are all very flexible – and viola parts usually double the violin or cello – allowing any combination of different skill levels from any stringed instrument to participate. It is not necessary to have all parts in the score played for the music to be satisfactory. Piano parts are provided for support, but are not essential.
Once purchased, the purchaser may make any number of copies of the parts for their own ensemble use – so catering for different combinations of students each year and providing students with practice parts to take home is not a problem!
